1. Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy describes conduct that is not permitted when using Diversified Check Studio. It exists to protect customers, financial institutions, payees, the public, and the integrity of the service.
This policy is incorporated into the Terms and Conditions. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given in the Terms and Conditions.
2. Who This Applies To
This policy applies to every person and entity that accesses the website or the software, including account owners, administrators, invited users, evaluation users, and anyone acting on a customer's behalf.
The account owner is responsible for the conduct of every user under the account.
3. Core Requirement: Authority to Draw
Diversified Check Studio is check design and check printing software. It does not move money, verify funds, contact financial institutions, or validate signing authority.
You may only create, design, or print a check for an account that you own or are lawfully authorized to draw on, and only for an amount and purpose you are authorized to approve.
Printing a check drawn on an account you do not control or are not authorized to draw on is prohibited, regardless of intent.
4. Prohibited Activities
You may not use the service to:
- Create, print, or attempt to print an instrument drawn on an account without lawful authority.
- Impersonate another person, business, or financial institution.
- Reproduce, imitate, or simulate the security features, marks, or trade dress of a financial institution without authorization.
- Create counterfeit, forged, altered, or fictitious instruments.
- Assist, facilitate, instruct, or encourage check fraud, payment fraud, identity theft, money laundering, or structuring.
- Print instruments intended to deceive a recipient about the identity of the drawer or the existence of the account.
- Upload a signature image you are not authorized to apply.
- Enter bank account, routing, or payee information obtained without authorization.
- Use the service in violation of any applicable federal, state, or local law, or the rules of a financial institution.
5. Prohibited Technical Conduct
You may not:
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the service except as expressly permitted by the Responsible Disclosure Policy.
- Circumvent, disable, or interfere with licensing, entitlement, authentication, rate limiting, or audit controls.
- Attempt to access another account, another account's data, or administrative functionality you were not granted.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software except to the extent that restriction is unenforceable by law.
- Scrape, harvest, or bulk-extract content, routing directory data, or premium design assets.
- Introduce malware, automated abuse, denial of service traffic, or excessive load that degrades service for others.
- Resell, sublicense, host, or provide the software as a service to third parties without written authorization.
6. Content and Asset Restrictions
Logos, signatures, background designs, and other assets uploaded to the Business Asset Library must be lawfully yours to use.
You may not upload content that infringes intellectual property rights, violates a person's rights of privacy or publicity, is unlawful, or is designed to mislead a check recipient.
Premium designs made available through the Business Asset Package are licensed for use within your own check production. They may not be redistributed, resold, or repackaged.
7. Account Security Responsibilities
You must protect sign-in credentials, enable available security controls where appropriate, and promptly remove users who no longer require access.
Credential sharing between individuals is not permitted. Each individual who needs access should have their own user record.
Suspected unauthorized access must be reported promptly using the contact information below.
8. Licensing Integrity
Business Licenses, additional license capacity, and account-wide entitlements are issued to a specific account and may not be transferred, shared, or resold except as expressly permitted.
Discounted commercial license types, including Nonprofit, Government, and Educational Institution licenses, require accurate self-certification. Misrepresenting eligibility is a violation of this policy.
9. Monitoring and Enforcement
We do not routinely review the content of customer check designs. We do maintain audit, security, and abuse-prevention logging, and we may investigate reported or detected misuse.
Where a violation is suspected or confirmed, we may, with or without notice, take one or more of the following actions:
- Request an explanation or supporting documentation.
- Restrict specific functionality.
- Suspend a user, a business, or an entire account.
- Revoke a license or entitlement.
- Terminate the agreement.
- Preserve records and cooperate with lawful requests from financial institutions or authorities.
Actions are taken in a manner we consider reasonable given the severity and the risk to third parties. Immediate action may be taken where there is an apparent risk of fraud or harm.
10. Reporting a Violation
Suspected misuse of Diversified Check Studio, including suspected fraudulent check activity involving our software, should be reported using the contact information below. Include as much detail as you can share safely.
Suspected security vulnerabilities should be reported under the Responsible Disclosure Policy rather than through general support.
11. No Obligation to Monitor
Nothing in this policy creates an obligation to monitor customer activity or an assurance that misuse will be detected. Compliance with law and with financial institution requirements remains the customer's responsibility.
12. Changes to This Policy
This policy may be revised to reflect changes in law, risk, technology, or service functionality. The Last Revised date and version number will be updated when it changes.
