Routing Directory Information Notice
Sources, limitations, and customer responsibilities for routing directory information.
- Effective Date
- August 3, 2026
- Last Revised

- Version
- 1.0
1. Purpose
Diversified Check Studio includes a routing number reference directory that helps customers look up an institution by routing number or name. This notice explains where that information comes from, what it means, and what it does not mean.
2. Source of the Data
The directory is derived from publicly published participant information, including the Federal Reserve FedACH participant file and comparable public reference sources.
Diversified Check Studio is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the Federal Reserve, any clearing house, or any financial institution listed in the directory.
3. How Updates Work
The directory is refreshed on an automated schedule. Each import is validated and applied atomically, so a failed import rolls back rather than leaving partial data. The date of the most recent successful update is shown in the software.
Publication schedules and institution changes mean the directory can lag behind reality. Mergers, acquisitions, charter changes, and routing number retirements may not be reflected immediately.
4. What a Directory Match Means
A match indicates only that a routing number appears in the reference data with the associated institution details as published.
A match does not confirm any of the following:
- That the routing number is the correct one for your specific account.
- That the institution uses that routing number for the check product you hold.
- That your account is open, active, or in good standing.
- That you are authorized to draw on the account.
- That a check bearing the number will be accepted or paid.
5. Multiple Routing Numbers
Many institutions maintain more than one routing number, and the correct one can differ by state, by region, by legacy institution after a merger, and by whether the transaction is a paper check, an ACH entry, or a wire transfer.
Always use the routing number that appears on a check issued by your institution for the account in question, or that your institution supplies in writing for check printing.
6. Address and Name Information
Institution names and addresses in the directory reflect the published record and may be a processing or servicing address rather than a branch address. Confirm the bank name and address you print with your institution.
7. No Warranty
Directory information is provided for reference on an as-is basis, without warranty of accuracy, completeness, currency, or fitness for a particular purpose. We do not guarantee that any entry is current at the moment you view it.
8. Customer Responsibility
You are responsible for verifying routing and account information with your financial institution before printing. The Production Readiness Policy and the MICR and Bank Information Handling Policy describe the verification steps we expect before production use.
9. Reporting an Error
If you believe a directory entry is incorrect, please tell us using the contact information below and include the routing number and the corrected detail. We will review it against the published source. Because we mirror published data, we cannot override a source record on request alone.
10. Permitted Use
The directory is provided for use within the check printing workflow. Bulk extraction, scraping, redistribution, or resale of directory data through the service is not permitted under the Acceptable Use Policy.
11. Changes to This Notice
This notice may be revised. The Last Revised date and version number will be updated when it changes.
