Most MICR problems come from a short list.
- Printing with standard toner instead of MICR toner or MICR ink.
- Scaling the page instead of printing at actual size.
- Dropping leading zeros from the account or check number.
- Using the wrong digit width for the check number.
- Placing artwork or text inside the bottom band.
- Smudges, fingerprints, or a dirty fuser leaving marks across the band.
