Personal and business bank accounts

Ownership type, and why it changes which designs and stock you can use.

Last updated Aug 3, 20261 min read

Each bank account is individual, joint, or business owned. Ownership drives which check designs and which stock formats fit.

  • Business accounts pair with business layouts and business size stock.
  • Individual and joint accounts pair with personal looks and personal stock formats.
  • Most banks will allow a personal check printed on business size stock, though you may have to format the MICR line the way a business check is formatted. Consult your bank to confirm the size is acceptable and to ask about any variation in the order of the MICR items, then record the size certification.
